This contract is for the provision of the supply of retrim of bus seating over a three year period. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend this contract(s) for a further period of 12 or 24 months. The purpose of the pre-qualification questionnaire is to obtain sufficient information to enable the Contracting Authority to evaluate the suitability of applicants with the necessary resources and capacity to achieve the contract objectives. This will be a negotiated procedure.

Quantity or scope:
The Contracting Authority proposes awarding a Contract for the supply of re-trim of bus seating to Bus ร‰ireann over a three year period. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend this Contract(s) for a further period of 12 or 24 months.To this end, the Contracting Authority requires a competent Company to facilitate but, not necessarily be limited to re-trimming bus seating units on an as required basis at locations throughout Ireland.The seat units are predominately coach type passenger seats comprising of removable cushions and backrests mounted on metal frames. There will also be seating for city vehicles, and driver seats. Details of the fleet list and seat variations will be provided at the next stage of the tender process.The seating units, comprising of backrests / cushions would usually be removed from the vehicles and made available for collection by the Contractor for re-trim. Once the re-trim is completed, the Contractor would return the unit to the location and Bus ร‰ireann maintenance staff would refit to the bus.In situations where there is a larger number of seating units to be repaired and re-trimmed, the Contractor would be expected to call to the location involved and carry out the work to the seating on site.The Contractor would be expected to keep a stock of all the required upholstery materials and relevant seating spares.This is subject to change.

Following receipt of tenders, Bus ร‰ireann may negotiate as necessary with one or more tenderers and will award the contract to the most economically advantageous offer received. If a request to participate is submitted by a group of suppliers, then those suppliers, if awarded the contract shall assume legal form by incorporation, partnership, or otherwise so as to enable them to group to state a single addressee responsible for the receipt and processing of the participating orders and resolving any problems relating to the contract.
