OPW Works Contractors Framework for the Schools Building Programme

The Contracting Authority on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills intends to form a Works Contractors Framework consisting of two panels one for Type 2 and one for Type 3 projects. The duration of the Framework will be three years from the date of its formation.
The Contracting Authority is seeking expressions of interest from Works Contractors who have the capability to deliver projects within the specified time and have the capacity to deliver project category Type 2 or Type 3. Please indicate with your application whether you wish to apply for inclusion on the Type 2 or Type 3 panel or both.
The school contracts may be procured as separate contracts or in lots.
The Applicant must form a team to include the Mechanical, Electrical and Lift Specialist. Each member of the team will be assessed independently under a single application with the Works Contractor as the lead.
The programme consists of a number of individual school developments or projects located across the country.A number of individual school developments/projects will be fast track projects to be completed within a 26 week period, however this period may be shorter and a number of the developments may run at the same time.
The developments may consist of sites where more than one school is to be constructed adjacent to each other.The school programme may include new builds or extensions at various locations regionally.
The developments may include the demolition of existing school buildings on a number of sites including associated siteworks. The size of the schools will vary to include 8 classroom, 16 classroom and 24 classroom schools and some of which will include special needs units of various sizes.
The development of the schools will include the provision of external ballcourts, junior play areas, car parking spaces, bicycle storage, waste management, vehicular and pedestrian access routes and set down areas.
The works will include civil work and ancillary works such as drainage, the provision of external paths, paving and associated landscaping, ground works and all associated site works.
