NUIG/BUILD/004/12. Bike rental scheme at NUI Galway
National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway-NUIG)
As part of an on-going commitment to encouraging the use of sustainable modes of travel, the NUI Galway Buildings Office invite tenders for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of a self-service short term bike rental scheme. The bike scheme will form one component of the NUI Galway Travel Plan 2010-2014, currently being implemented on the campus. The University provides for over 17 000 students and employs over 2 000 staff, many of whom undertake regular internal trips between the different parts of the campus. The aim of the scheme is to provide an attractive, fast and convenient way of making these short trips, both within and off campus. It is envisaged that docking stations/bike stands will be distributed at approx 8 locations throughout the campus with 40 bikes in circulation at any one time.
