Framework Agreements for the supply of Domestic Furniture to Third Level Education Institutions

UCD intends to put in place a multi-operator framework agreement with the successful suppliers for the supply of Domestic Furniture to a number of Third Level Education Institutions.
This tender is intended primarily to cover the requirements of UCD. However the following institutions may opt to use the framework agreements over the framework period.
National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM).
University of Limerick (UL) including the Plassey Campus Centre (PCC).
University of Dublin, Trinity College (TCD).
Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).
UCD will be the main point of contact for the tender on behalf of the collaborative group.
The Tender will be broken into 4 lots as follows:
โ€” lot 1: bed frames and mattresses,
โ€” lot 2: study desks, notice boards, kitchen chairs, coffee tables, kitchen tables, bedside lockers,
โ€” lot 3: sofas,
โ€” lot 4: study chairs (leather or contract pvc/gliders).
Applicants may bid for one or more of the above lots. Applicants must clearly state the lot(s) that they are applying to.
Examples of domestic furniture required to be provided under the framework may include the following (but not limited to):
โ€” bed frames,
โ€” bed mattresses,
โ€” study desks,
โ€” study chairs (leather or contract PVC/gliders),
โ€” notice boards,
โ€” kitchen tables,
โ€” kitchen chairs,
โ€” coffee tables,
โ€” bedside lockers,
โ€” sofas.
The initial project for UCD is for the replacement of furniture as part of UCDโ€™s ongoing capital refurbishment programme in the Merville Residences. As part of the contract suppliers will be expected to deliver the order within the last two weeks of August 2012 (specific date to be agreed) and liaise / work with the main contractor to ensure the full delivery, assembly, and fitting of all items in situ in the apartments. Suppliers are also expected to unwrap and remove all associated packaging.
Suppliers will be required to provide a high quality, prompt, efficient and cost effective service to the Third Level Education Institutions at all times.
