Clinical Education & Research Building
The Health Service Executive and University of Limerick are planning the construction of a new Centre for Clinical Education and Research at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital Campus, Dooradoyle, Limerick. This proposed Centre will provide an educational environment that will accommodate and support the comprehensive educational, training and research needs of the University of Limerick medical students and the broader HSE hospital community across all disciplines. The proposed building will be in the region of 3 000m² overall and will be multi-storey and encompass clinical education and research facilities with the overall accommodation including lecture theatre / tutorial spaces, computer laboratories, clinical skills, research, library facilities including reader / IT stations and support spaces, academic & admin offices, meeting rooms, ancillary spaces including plant rooms. The building will have an enclosed link to the adjacent acute hospital facilities.
The Health Service Executive now wish to individually appoint the members of a design team for the project and a project manager. Design team members required include Architect (including Employers Representative and Project Supervisor Design Process roles), Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, Civil & Structural Engineer and Project Manager. The services will typically include taking the brief and engaging with the client to clarify the requirements, obtaining statutory approvals, preparation of detailed design and tender documentation, management of the tender process, administration of the works contract, cost control including agreement of final accounts, management of the handover process including the provision of handover documentation to the client and all required interaction and reporting to the client throughout the process etc.
