CF1 design & build contract for a commuter facility at University College Dublin, Belfield

University College Dublin (UCD)

University College Dublin intends to seek Tenders for the design and construction of a commuting facility (CF1) on the Belfield Campus. The commuting facility will incorporate car parking, cycle parking and motor cycle parking along with support, amenity and retail accommodation. Planning permission has been secured for the first phase (planning reference D10A/0386) from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Planning Authority and all applicants are advised to examine the planning file at public desk. This tender may also include the option to secure a second phase for the expansion of the facility by approximately 400 spaces to bring the overall parking capacity in this commuting facility to 1000 spaces subject to planning and funding. Further details will be provided in the tender documents in due course.
It is also envisaged that provision for a high level of sustainability features, such as rainwater harvesting, facade & roof photovoltaic's and Electric Car charge points may be incorporated into the design. Enabling Works will include alterations access routes, site clearance including removal of tennis courts, diversions of live services, and other external works.
The project will be carried out within a live third level educational campus environment with active teaching spaces and student residences in close proximity.
UCD are seeking to procure a Works Contractor for the project that will be procured through a Design & Build Contract (Designed by the Contractor). The Design & Build Contractor will be required to retain the services of a Design Team as noted within the Suitability Assessment Questionnaire QW1.
