Cervical cytology liquid based cytology screening & human papillomavirus (HPV) testing services
National Cancer Screening Service (NCSS) wishes to invite tenders from suitably qualified laboratory service provider/s who wish to participate in a competition for the provision of laboratory cervical cytology (liquid based cytology – LBC) screening services and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing services from suitably competent and qualified gynaecological cytopathology laboratories in order to meet the demand for cervical smear analysis and report to the NCSS, and associated services.
CervicalCheck - The National Cervical Screening Programme of the NCSS screens 300 000 – 350 000 Thin Prep (Hologic Inc.) LBC Pap Smears per annum.
In addition to LBC screening, there is a current requirement for between 5 000 – 20 000 HPV tests per annum to be carried out on NCSS-designated samples within the screening programme.
