Car Park Management Services Concession
GMIT proposes to award a service concession for a complete Car Park Management Service to be delivered fully at the risk of the successful operator. The concession includes:
(i) the supply, installation, implementation and operation of a parking management system, and
(ii) the provision of a clamping and a lift-and-tow service.
For the avoidance of doubt, the main characteristics of a service concession in this context are:
— The successful operator will bear the risk involved in operating the car park management service (including establishing and exploiting the car park management system), obtaining a significant part of revenue from the users (i.e. GMIT staff, students and visitors), particularly by charging fees, and,
— The successful operator will accept full responsibility for the exploitation of the GMIT car park at Galway.
The duration of the concession will be of 2 years, subject to satisfactory annual review of performance and terms. The Institute also reserves the option to extend the concession for a further 2 years following the expiry of the initial concession period.
