BXD_101 Luas Broombridge Utility Works
Luas Broombridge will represent the next addition to Dublinโs Luas light railway system. Running from the Luas Green Line terminus at St. Stephenโs Green through the city centre Phibsborough and Cabra to Broombridge the new line will link the Luas Red and Green Lines and will also serve the planned new DIT Campus facility at Grangegorman. The proposed line is 5,6 km in length and will have 13 stops. It will provide interchange with suburban railway services at Broombridge and with city bus services at numerous locations throughout the city centre. The utilities works contract entails the diversion of the majority of underground utility apparatus away from the alignment of the proposed new Luas line. This contract will form one of a number of enabling works contracts designed to facilitate the implementation of the main track and civils infrastructure for the proposed new Luas Broombridge. The works will require to be undertaken in a dense city centre environment with significant road traffic and pedestrian volumes and associated constraints. These Works will be carried out under a client-design target-cost contract.
