Whitegate/ Aghada Sewerage scheme โ€“ preliminary report

Cork County Council

Cork County Council requires the services of a competent consultant, with experience of civil engineering works in the field of wastewater treatment. The firm should be able to demonstrate experience in wastewater treatment plant & network design, contract document preparation, health and safety, procurement and project management. The appointment initially shall be for the preliminary report stage only.
Cork County Council propose to provide the appropriate wastewater treatment to serve the medium term development of the area. It is intended that this will be carried out by providing a new Sewer Network and a new Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to serve the area. Due to the nature of the potential receiving waters in the area, i.e. Shellfish Designated Area at Rostellan and a Special Protection Area (SPA) at Aghada, the consultant will have to carry out an Environmental Appropriate Assessment to include a Sub Threshold EIS (Environmental Impact Statement).
