Western Distributor Road Phase 2 Scheme

Sligo County Council

The Scheme is a new 2km length of single carriageway Urban Distributor Road which will complete the total length of the Western Distributor Road. Phase 1 a total length of 564m was completed in early 2010.
The cross section includes a 10m carriageway with a footway and cycleway on both sides, giving a total width of 23m.
The scheme will involve the provision of 2 new at-grade junctions, a roundabout and a signalised crossroad junction, crossing existing roads.
A 400m long link road to a proposed IDA Business Park is to be provided along with 1 000 m of minor roads and tie-ins.
The Scheme involves the construction of a Railway Overbridge over the Sligo-Dublin Rail Line, which will involve consultation with Iarnrod Eireann.
