The provision of Regulatory Risk System Training

Central Bank of Ireland

A Regulatory Risk System is being developed for our supervisory divisions which will be rolled out before the end of 2011. It will be used to determine engagement levels with all regulated entities and facilitate the allocation of supervisory resources towards entities on the basis of impact and risk. A key component of our risk based approach is the roll out of a Regulatory Risk System training which will enhance supervisorsโ€™ approach to advanced risk-based supervision and the processes for assessing and monitoring risks within and facing regulated entities. Key to the functionality of the system will be the requirement for supervisors to record their assessments/judgments of entities, their risks and controls, and to develop mitigating actions (Risk Mitigation Programmes) to reduce risk in individual firms.
