Quantity Surveying Services for the provision of a Sports Academy Building at IT Tralee

The project is for the design and construction of a Sports Academy. The Project is in two Phases:
PHASE A - relates to the construction of the 'Dry' facility; and.
PHASE B - the development of a 'Wet' facility.
This tender opportunity relates specifically to Phase A.
This project (Phase A) comprises of the construction of an international size Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Aerobics Suite, Treatment Rooms, Lecture Rooms, Offices, Meeting Rooms, Changing Rooms, Toilet Facilities and associated Ancillary Rooms, Storage Area, Building Services, and External Works, having a total gross floor area of approximately c6,900 m2. The design of the proposed building will incorporate the current best practice for sustainable design, acoustics and energy efficiency, with the objective of keeping running and maintenance costs to a minimum. The proposed building will be located on the Instituteโ€™s North Campus at Dromtacker, Tralee, County Kerry, and will form an integral part of the campus. This building will service not only the Instituteโ€™s requirements but will also be available to external sports activities and events. The final project will be readily accessible to, and usable by, individuals with special needs, accessibility for all is an essential requirement.
The Institute hopes to enhance this facility with a Phase B development which will incorporate a 'wet' area with swimming pool and associated facilities. At this stage, the timing of this phase has not been defined.
The Institute is now seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveying Service Provider to provide the full range of Quantity Surveying Services to the Institute.
Please note: the Institute will be advertising separately for the following design team services - Architectural Design Services including PSDP and Fire Consultancy Services.

Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Services were advertised on the 11.8.2011.
Civil & Structural Engineering Services were advertised on the 11.8.2011.

In order to be considered for this pre-qualification process candidates are required to complete the attached Suitability Assessment Questionnaire together with its associated Supplementary documents and Appendices where appropriate. Award of contract will be subject to the Standard Conditions of Engagement for Consultancy Services (Technical) issued by the Irish Department of Finance, and to the production of a valid tax clearance certificate by the preferred bidder. Candidates and tenderers should note that the Institute is subject to the Freedom of Information Acts, as amended.
