Bord Gรกis ร‰ireann is seeking applications from suitably experienced contractors to construct a natural gas pipeline from Baunlusk AGI near Co. Kilkenny to Great Island Power Station, Co. Wexford. The pipeline length is approximately 45 km. The diameter of the pipeline is in a range of 300 mm to 500 mm. The majority of this pipeline will be located in a cross country environment. The project also involves modifications to the existing AGIโ€™s and inclusion of block valve(s) along the route. The scope of work will involve all activities associated with the construction of Natural Gas Transmission Pipelines and Associated Installations, at up to 85 bar pressure. The scope of work includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: Carrying out all construction activities associated with the laying of High Pressure Steel Gas Mains, in cross country, and suburban environments, including preparation of the working width, pipe stringing, excavation, negotiation of existing services, ditching, backfilling, and reinstatement, and other associated works. Carrying out all construction activities associated with the welding of High Pressure Steel Gas Mains, including submission of welding procedures, welder qualification, all welding, radiography, radiographic interpretation, wrapping of joints, pigging of pipelines, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning. Carry out all construction activities associated with the construction of Above Ground Installations, including provision of all ancillary civil services, fabrication of all pipework, tie-ins to mains, testing, commissioning, and other associated works. Provision of adequate resources with the requisite experience, to ensure that all pipeline and installation works contracts are completed on programme and in accordance with BGE Specifications and Conditions of Contract. Fulfilling the role Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006. Liaison with all Local Authorities and other parties on an ongoing basis in advance of and for the duration of the construction contract. Provision of adequate resources and plant to carry out crossings at special locations, such as Motorways, Canals, Railways, and Major Rivers. The Contractor may also be required to carry out construction activities to install fibre optic ducting and access chambers along some or all of the proposed route of the natural gas pipeline, including the special locations, such as Motorways, Canals, Railways, and Major Rivers. The scope of work will also involve all activities associated with the installation of a natural gas pipeline of around 1 km by trenchless crossing in order to cross the River Barrow Estuary. A pre-qualification questionnaire will be issued to all candidates who respond to this notice. Expressions of interest should be addressed in writing and sent to cwhite@bge.ie. The questionnaire will cover the financial, economic and technical capacity of the candidates. The questionnaire must be completed and returned to the address in I.1. above not later than Wednesday 2.3.2011 (17:00). The responses will be used to assist in drawing up a tender list. This process may also include interviews with candidates. The contracting entity will not be responsible for any costs, charges or expenses incurred by candidates or tenderers relating to this contract award procedure.
