ESB is Ireland's premier electricity utility, with a long and proud history of providing best in class pension plans. It created its current defined contribution pension scheme in 1991 and on 1.1.2011, the Scheme became the main ESB Pension Scheme for all new recruits into ESB and it Subsidiaries Companies. The ESB Defined Contribution Scheme has annual cash flow of 11 000 000 EUR, with the number of members reaching 1 200 and assets under management standing at over 55 000 000 EUR.
In 2010, ESB Defined Contribution Scheme was awarded the best Pension Funds in Ireland at the tenth annual investment & Pensions European (IPE) Pension Fund Awards. The IPE European Pension Fund Awards are designed to give recognition for excellent achievement to pension funds from across Europe.
The Administration of the ESB Defined Contribution Scheme is now up for renewal and we are now seeking expressions of interest from companies with regard to this. The Administration will also provide Pension Consultants to the trustees, Manage the renewal of the Risk insurance cover.
