Environmental Consultant for Conamara Greenway
A specialist environmental consultant will be commissioned by Galway County Council to carry out an assessment of the environmental aspects of the proposed Greenway i.e. Cycleway and Walkway development in Conamara. The principal study area for the Commission will be the old railway line from Oughterard to Clifden and immediate surrounding areas.
The Consultant will be required to identify sensitive habitats or features adjacent to and/of of the principal study area, which could potentially affect or be affected by the construction of the Greenway. This will include a constraints study, environmental assessment, screening for appropiate assessment, appropiate assessment if necessary, preparation of an EIS if required and participation in the planning process if required.
The construction of the Greenway will involve the replacement and reconstruction of the existing bridges.
