Development of a new forensic science laboratory at Backweston (electrical specialist)

The commissioners of public works in Ireland invite applications / expressions of interest from competent electrical specialists who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which tenders may be invited for the development of a new forensic science laboratory (FSL) facility at Backweston, Celbridge, Co. Kildare. Please see the relevant pre-qualification documents attached to this notice (separate notices will be posted in respect of main (works) contractor and mechanical & lift specialists).
The FSL is to be a mainly two storey building of approximately 9 550 sqm internal floor area, including laboratories, offices and ancillary accommodation, some on a third floor, with a single storey utilities and storage building of 485 sqm. The external finishes of the building will be coloured render, timber framed windows and metal roof cladding.
The electrical services shall include but not be limited to those outlined in the relevant QW3 - suitability assessment questionnaire (electrical).
Interested specialists should note that the Contracting Authority may elect, at its discretion, to novate the specialist to be employed. Some or all of the required specialists may be novated - a decision will be made prior to issuing tender documents.

Applicants should note that it will be a condition for the award of any contract that the successful tenderer and specialist complies with health & safety regulations. All relevant H&S appendices must be completed and returned with the pre-qualification questionnaire. The office of public works is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Acts, 1997 and 2003. If candidates consider that any information supplied by them is either commercially sensitive or confidential in nature, this should be highlighted and the reason(s) for its sensitivity specified. In such cases the relevant material will, in response to FOI requests, be examined in the light of the exemptions provided for in the FOI acts. Applicants should note that it will be a condition for the award of any contract that the successful tenderer / specialist contributes to an approved operatives pension and sick pay scheme and can produce a valid C2 certificate or current tax clearance certificate from the revenue commissioners in Ireland, or for a non-resident, a statement from the revenue commissioners in Ireland confirming suitability on tax grounds. All costs incurred in preparing tender submissions must be borne by candidates. The Contracting Authority accepts no liability for these costs, irrespective of the outcome of the competition or if the competition is postponed or cancelled. The most economically advantageous or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. All times set out in this contract notice are in local Irish time.
