Expression of interest are invited from suitably qualified contractors who wish to be considered for the construction of a 1600m2 (approx) Sports Building (including 600m2 Sports Hall, Changing Facilities and Gymnasium), an 8 lane Athletics Track, 3G All-weather Multi-Purpose Pitch, relocation of existing grass GAA Pitch, Flood lighting to all pitches and track, car parking, roads, footpaths, and general site lighting; regrading of site to suit the playing surfaces, including treatment of soft ground by surcharging, continuous monitoring of same and disposal of excess material post surcharge period, culverting of an existing surface water stream; new entrance, boundary walls and fencing, landscape planting and all associated site works and services.
The contract is a design and build contract. The contractor shall be Works Contactor, Designer, PSDP and PSCS. It is intended to novate the existing single point design team (architects, landscape architects, civil and structural engineers, M&E services engineers, Project Supervisor Design Process) to the successful Main Contractor at Construction Stage.
The contract includes two Work Specialists with Design Input for the 3G Synthetic pitch surface and for the Athletics Track synthetic sports surface.
Expressions of interest are also invited from suitable qualified Works Specialists, (3G Synthetic Sports Surfaces Contractors), to be shortlisted onto a panel. The 3G Synthetic Sports Surfaces Specialist works will incorporate the design input and construction of 1 no 3G synthetics pitch to include an adult sized GAA pitch, an 11-a-side soccer pitch, including a number of 7-a-side and 5-a-side layouts, and a full size rugby pitch layout, including goal posts, markings, drainage, fencing, floodlighting etc. All sports will take place on the same surface, with the total size 136m x 86m approx.
Expressions of interest are also invited from suitable qualified Works Specialists, (Athletics Track Sports Surfaces Contractors), to be shortlisted onto a panel. The Athletics Track Sports Surfaces Specialist works will incorporate the design input and construction of an IAAF approved synthetic athletics track and all track & field event facilities. The track and field facilities are required to be designed and constructed to IAAF standard athletics facility to a min. of construction category III and to include markings, drainage, fencing, floodlighting etc.

Candidates will be pre-qualified on the basis of the information submitted in response to this notice. The contract will be awarded on the basis of most economically advantageous tender. There are two Employer named specialists. All other sub-contractors are domestic. The successful applicant will be appointed Works Contractor, Designer, PSDP, and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS) on the project in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations. It is intended to novate the existing single point design team (architects, landscape architects, civil and structural engineers, M&E services engineers, Project Supervisor Design Process) to the successful contractor at Construction Stage. The Project categorisation for assessment of H&S competence is as Works Contractor and PSCS Major Works. The Areas of work involving Particular Risks known to Contracting Authority at this time are: as stated in the suitability assessment questionnaire. Expressions of Interest or tender competitions have been or are being conducted separately for: None. It is a condition precedent to the award of the Contract that the successful Tenderer will provide: 1. A current tax clearance certificate or in the case of a non-resident Contractor a statement of suitability on tax grounds from the Revenue Commissioners of Ireland. 2. Evidence showing that they are in compliance with the registered employment agreement (Construction Industry Pensions Assurance and Sick Pay). 3.
