An Post, established in 1984, operates the National Postal Service, along with an array of money transmission, savings and retail services throughout Ireland. In addition, An Post provides agency services for Government Departments and other bodies.
As a national service provider, An Post services over one million delivery addresses daily and in excess of 1 700 000 customers each week through 1 250 retail Post Office outlets nationwide. An Post has an annual turnover in excess of 800 000 000 EUR.
The An Post group includes a number of subsidiaries and associated companies including An Post National National Lottery Company, An Post Billpost Processing Services Limited, Post Consult International Limited, PrintPost Limited, and The Prize Bond Company Limited and One Direct (Ireland) Limited.
An Post invites expressions of interest for the provision of repair and support services for its country-wide infrastructure of Safes and related equipment and for the provision of any new safes that may be required from time to time.
An Post currently has approximately 2 600 Safes over a network of approximately 1 250 offices Nationwide. These safes range in age and specification.
An Post, the postal service provider in Ireland, is seeking to enter into an agreement with a Safes Service, Repair and Relocation provider(s) for the following:
โ€” service and repairs to damaged safes and parts,
โ€” relocation of existing safes within post offices and from one site to another,
โ€” the supply of new safes if required by the business.
An Post will require a service provider who can respond to call out requests to Post Offices within a specified time frame as determined by an Post. For this reason, An Post may divide the contract up into lots defined by National Location.
The scope of the solution should include Service, Repairs, Refurbishments, availability of spare parts, Relocations as well as provision of new Safes (Safes Services). The scope may include all An Post subsidiaries and affiliated companies.
While the tender is split into lots and includes the elements set out below, An Post are open to additional options on how the services can be provided. Applicants may apply to be considered for one or more lots (or all lots). The specifications will be open to variant offers and An Post will set out the minimum requirements in the tender documentation. An Post reserves the right to source the entire requirement (all lots) with a single prime contractor or to source each lot (or group of lots) with a different supplier. An Post also reserves the right to source individual lots with more than one supplier if required.
The lots are as follows:
โ€” lot (1) Provision of all Safes services for the Northern Region,
โ€” lot (2) Provision of all Safes services for the Southern Region,
โ€” lot (3) Provision of all Safes services for the Western Region,
โ€” lot (4) Provision of all Safes services for the Eastern Region including Dublin,
โ€” lot (5) Provision of new Safes and related services/equipment.
Note: An Post reserves the right not to tender for any of the individual lots described above.
The scope of this tender may include the Safes requirements for various An Post subsidiary and associated Companies. An Post reserves the right to add the Safes requirements of any of its subsidiary or associated companies (including any new companies) over the life of any contracts agreed.

Technical and professional ability:
(1) A statement of the candidate's average annual number of staff and managerial staff over the previous 3 years.

(3) All candidates will be required to provide certification from an independent body attesting conformity to environmental management standards in accordance with the Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS); or the European standard BS EN ISO 14001.

(4) All candidates will be required to provide certification drawn up by an independent body attesting the compliance of the economic operator with quality assurance standards based on the relevant European standards.
